E-Learning and Office 365 Training: Empowering Education in the Digital Age

In an effort to enhance digital literacy and foster efficient remote learning environments, a new training initiative titled "E-Learning and Office 365 Training" has been announced. This upcoming program aims to equip educators, students, and professionals with the skills necessary to fully utilize Office 365 tools in educational settings.

The training sessions are designed to cover a wide range of applications included in Office 365, such as Microsoft Teams for virtual classrooms, OneNote for organized note-taking, and SharePoint for collaborative projects. Additionally, participants will learn about integrating these tools with the Moodle learning management system, providing a seamless e-learning experience.

Scheduled to commence next month, the program will be available both online and in select training centers, ensuring accessibility for all interested participants. This initiative not only supports academic institutions in transitioning to digital platforms but also enhances the overall educational experience in our increasingly digital world.

Fundamentals of Accounting I

This course is designed to provide introductory knowledge of accounting principles, concepts, and practices as per International Financial Reporting Standards. The course deals with the processes involved in financial statements preparation for service-giving businesses, merchandising businesses, and manufacturing businesses. Topics covered includes the features of accounting information, users of accounting information, nature of financial statements, the double entry system, financial statements preparation process including journals, ledgers, trial balance, adjustments, worksheets, accruals, adjusting and closing entries, and the accounting system. This course provides a foundation for more advanced work in the fields of Accounting and business. All topics are studied in accordance with the provisions of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).

Financial Modeling
Financial modelling is about valuation of business.
Econometrics II
This course is a continuation of Econometrics I. It aims at introducing the theory (and practice) of regression on qualitative data, time series and panel data econometrics as well as simultaneous equation modeling. It first makes an introduction to the basic concepts in qualitative data modeling such as dummy variable regression and binary choice models (LPM, Logit and Probit). Elementary time series models, estimations and tests for stationarity of data will then be discussed. It also covers introduction to simultaneous equation modeling with alternative estimation methods. Introductory pooled cross-sectional and panel data models will finally be highlighted. All of these theoretical concepts will also be complemented by computer lab practices using statistical packages such as STATA, EViews, PcGive, etc. applied on available Ethiopian/international data.
